SOS Youth Care Koteshwor is the oldest Youth Care in Nepal. It provides quality care to the young people when they are transferred from SOS families. We have separate Youth Care for boys and girls. They live in a semi-independent setup with the supervision by professional counselors and educationists. Young people are offered with the best possible education and training opportunities available in the country to make them employable and financially self-reliant.

Within in the premises of the village, there is SOS Hermann Gmeiner School established to satisfy the education need of the children from the village and the local community. In the year 2018, the school received the best school award among institutional schools of Nepal in Grade XII Examination- 2075 held by the National Education Board (NEB), Government of Nepal. 

Similarly, the first group of SOS Mothers are retired now. Many of them are living in the Mother’s Retirement Home which is situated in the same compound.Apart from Family like care, SOS Children’s Village Sanothimi is running a number of programmes in Bhaktapur and in nearby districts. We provide support to the families and communities to strengthen their capacities so that children can live happily in their family of origin. Through Family Strengthening programme, we are providing training to the family members to generate income, educational support to the children, counsel advice and guide the parents. Similarly, we are also running day care service to the children of the socially and economically backward community. It provides nutritious meal and support to the children.
