SOS Children’s Villages Nepal, through its SOS Business Incubation Programme, convened a four-day Problem–Solution Fit Boot Camp from 4 to 7 May 2026, bringing together 22 aspiring entrepreneurs from diverse sectors to strengthen early-stage business ideas and promote inclusive economic opportunities.

Participants represented a range of sectors, including sustainable agriculture, food innovation, digital services, retail, automation and technology-based enterprises. The Boot Camp formed part of ongoing efforts to foster entrepreneurship and enhance youth employability by equipping participants with practical skills to develop viable, market-responsive business models.

Strengthening problem understanding and market alignment
A central focus of the Boot Camp was supporting participants to critically assess the problems they aim to address. Through structured sessions and guided exercises, participants were encouraged to move beyond assumptions and adopt a customer-centered approach to business development.

The Boot Camp introduced practical tools to help participants evaluate the feasibility of their business ideas. The ISRD and W Framework—focusing on Interest, Skills, Resources, Demand, and Willingness to Pay—was used to guide participants in assessing both internal capacities and external market conditions.

Through collaborative exercises and case-based learning, participants examined the importance of resource optimisation, clear value propositions, and evidence-based decision-making. The approach reinforced the need to ensure demand-driven solutions prior to scaling business investments.
Encouraging evidence-based learning through customer engagement
As part of the practical component, participants conducted field-based customer interactions and surveys. These engagements enabled them to gather first-hand insights into market dynamics, including customer preferences, purchasing patterns, and pricing considerations.

Participants were guided on:
- Structuring persuasive business pitches
- Applying storytelling techniques
- Communicating customer value clearly
- Demonstrating confidence and professionalism
Each participant delivered a practice pitch and received feedback from facilitators and peers, contributing to improved presentation skills and increased confidence.

The Problem–Solution Fit Boot Camp provided an enabling platform for emerging entrepreneurs to validate ideas, enhance skills, and build market-oriented business concepts. By integrating mentorship, experiential learning, and peer exchange, the initiative contributed to strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems and promoting youth-led innovation.
