35th SOS International Day Celebration

SOS Children’s Villages Nepal celebrated 35th SOS International Day and 102nd Birth Anniversary of our founding father Dr. Hermann Gmeiner.

On this auspicious occasion, we reaffirm that we are committed to the vision and mission of the Founding Father Dr Gmeiner and live by the Values of the Organization. We are striving to provide stable, loving and nurturing home in order to ensure that ‘No child grows up alone’ and helping children and young people through relevant education and training programs to offer them opportunities for their holistic development. Currently, we are organizing various programs such as online quiz, debate, photography, etc. for children and young people across our programs.

“On this special day, I would like to thank Dr. Hermann Gmeiner for his idea to build a home for children like us, so that we could receive a family again. I am so grateful for his innovative idea of providing a loving home with SOS mothers, brothers and sisters. Thank you for giving us everything,” shares a child under the care of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal.

‘On this special occasion, I request my colleagues and fellow friends to pay homage to Hermann Gmeiner and to live by the Values of our organization: Courage, Commitment, Accountability and Trust in order to ensure that that children and young people are in our focus and that they receive all possible opportunities to develop their strongest selves,’ says Mr. Ishwori Prasad Sharma, National Director. He further adds, ‘It is a moment to extend our thanks to friends, sponsors and donors for their trust to our organization that has made us possible to reach the children and young people to support them to reach their full potential.”
