33rd General Assembly of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal

The 33rd General Assembly (GA) of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal, held today at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, elected Dr Rita Singh Hamal as the President of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal for the next four-year term.

The Board includes:

  • President: Dr Rita Singh Hamal
  • Vice President: Mr Bidhyanath Bhurtel
  • Treasurer: Mr Karan Vaidya
  • Board Members: Ms Pratima Pandey, Mr Sanu Bhai Khadka, Mr Shashi Satyal

The General Assembly expressed sincere gratitude to outgoing President Dr Jyoti Ratna Dhakhwa for his dedicated service and warmly congratulated him on his selection as a member of the SOS Children’s Villages International Board, where he will be contributing to the global mission of SOS Children’s Villages.

GA Members reaffirmed their commitment to child protection, alternative care and strengthening community-based programmes. Children and young people actively shared their perspectives, embracing the principle: “Nothing for us without us.”

Additionally, the Assembly unanimously endorsed the Annual Report 2024 and Audit Report 2024.

The Board also includes invited members: SOS Children’s Village Directors’ Representative, Caregivers’ Representative, SOS Children’s Villages International Representative, Principals’ Representative from SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools whereas, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal serves as General Secretary.
