From its inception in June 1999, SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Kavre (SL Kavre) has been offering quality and relevant education to the children and young adults from CV Kavre and its surrounding communities. In the academic year (2015) 605 students studying from nursery to standard twelve (higher secondary level, management stream) have been receiving support in their learning process from 35 qualified and trained teachers and ten management staff members. Apart from catering the educational needs of all children of school going age from CV Kavre, this school has made provisions for scholarship assistance to the children from socially and economically marginalized families (that include single parent women-headed families). Children from so-called normal families (both parents alive and have a regular source of income) require paying school fees as per the norms. This way SL Kavre has been a successful example that an educational institution can maintain equity, inclusion and quality in education working true to its motto ‘Education for Human Perfection’.
