Internal Sports Activities (2012 June 4-11)
Internal sports activities like football, volleyball, badminton, sack race, three legged race, spoon race, math race, basketball, cricket etc. were organized for senior and junior level of the Village Children at SOS Children's Village Surkhet. The programmes were launched in coordination with village sports teacher Mr. Ramesh Tuladhar and the game coordinator Mr. Sushil Gyawali.
Inter School U-12 Football Tournament (2012 June 15-18)
Inter School Under-12 football tournament was held at the Village premises in which 11 schools were participated from 17 to 19 June. The final game was held between SOS Star Club and Sainik Aawashiya School and was won by the Star Club of SOS Village scoring 3 goals against 1. To give support and make game exciting all the village children, mothers, aunts, staffs and village director were presented. Best scorer Kundan Khanal from the Village and the best player Abishek Singh of Kopila Valley School were awarded. For the prizes, the programme was financially sponsored by the local business men.
Blood Donation Program (2012 June 18)
In co-ordination with Nepal Red Cross (NRC) Society Surkhet, the Blood Donation Campaign was held in the heart of Birendranagar city at Birendrachowk. Altogether 21 donors donated blood. The program was chaired by the Village Director Mr. Man Bahadur Nepali. On the very occasion, president of NRC, the chairperson of blood donation association Surkhet branch and other local dignitaries were presented.
Staff Volleyball and Kabbadi (2012 June 17-19)
The co-workers had been grouped into four teams and the Staff Volleyball Tournament among SOS Children’s Village staff, school teachers and the co-workers was held from June 17 to 19 at the SOS Village. The game was addressed as a celebration rather than a competition by Village Director Mr. Man Bdr Nepali. The game was coordinated by Mr. Shyam Chhetri In charge of SOS Social Center and by Mr. Ramesh Tuladhar Sports Coordinator of SOS Children’s Village Surkhet.
Similarly, SOS Children’s Village Surkhet organized female Staff Kabbadi game for all the lady staff from June 19 to 20 at the Village. The co-workers had been grouped into four teams.
Fun Game for Day Care Children and their Caregivers (2012 June 22)
SOS Social Center Surkhet organized fun game for all Day Care Children and for their caregiver at the Social Center premises. Games like toffee race, ball pass game for small children and ball pass with music, thread & needle race for the caregivers. The entire winners were awarded the prizes. The program was chaired by the Village Director Mr. Man Bahadur Nepali. All the programs were conducted by Mr. Shyam Chhetri, In charge of SOS Social Center and Village sports teacher Mr. Ramesh Tuladhar.
Special Program (June 23, 2012)
A special program was organized to influence both internal and external people and to highlight the activities of SOS Children's Village in the local sector. The formal program was started with the heartfelt homage to the founding father Dr. Herman Gmeiner by offering flowers and garland on His picture. The formal program, cultural program of Surkhet and musical program were presented by the village children. Mr. Madhav Khanal, a local sponsors addressed on good work done by the SOS Children Village Surkhet and had promised to be a sponsor of village. The program was chaired by the Village Director Mr. Man Bahadur Nepali. The Chief Judge of Appellate Court Mr. Govinda Kumar Shrestha was invited as a chief guest. The Chief District Officer along with other highly dignified officials was also presented. Local sponsors of the areas were honored by certificates and with scarfs. 7 new local sponsors committed to be the sponsors of this village. The program was facilitated by Mrs. Gyatri Rana, Ms. Nilima Khatri and Mr. Harihar Basnet from SOS school. The Director of SOS Children’s Village Surkhet Mr. Man Bdr. Nepali, School principal Mr. Padam Bdr. Hamal, Vice principal Mr. Mukunda Giri, Asst. Director Mr. Sushil Gyawali and SOS Social Center In charge Mr. Shyam Chhetri committed to be the High Valued Sponsors from this June. Near about 130 guests were invited and family visit program was made for the interaction with the children and mothers. The Guests were much impressed by the work for the sake of the children of this region and committed to support in the sector of the child's right. The program was much successful.
In the evening, a small party was organized for the village family. All the village children, mothers & aunt, co-workers, former children attended and enjoyed the party.
