SOS Children’s Villages in Building Back Better after the Earthquake

SOS Children’s Villages builds well-equipped school building for the Children of Bhimeshwor Municipality- 9, Lakuridada, Dolkha.

Lakuridada, Dolkha, and 2nd May 2018: 
Chief Guest, Mr. Rabindra Adhikari Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation inaugurated the newly constructed building of Shree Surke Secondary School Bhimeshwor Municipality-9 Lakuridada, Dolkha.

Mr. Siddhartha Kaul, President SOS Children’s Villages international, dedicated the newly building that was constructed by financial and technical support of SOS Children’s Villages to the children and school family. 
The program took place in the gracious presence of Dr. Kay Vorwerk, President SOS KDI e.V, Dr. Jyoti Ratna Dakhwa, president, SOS CV Nepal, Mr. Ishwori Prasad Sharma, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Nepal, SOS senior coworkers, representative from district education office, School management committee, school students and the community people.
In the inaugural remarks, Honorable Minister Mr. Adhikari acknowledged the quality work of SOS Children’s Village through its various programs in communities for last 46 years for the needy children.                      
Around 400 school children get direct benefit from the school.
The school has 16 classrooms, 10 toilets, a multipurpose hall, a teachers’ room and a Principal’s room.
 The school has been supported with child friendly well-furnished classrooms, a library, computer lab, and musical instruments. 
In the same program, three completed houses were handed over by Mr.Siddhartha Kaul, President SOS Children’s Villages international to the owners. Remaining 104 individual houses and a multi-purpose community center are under completion soon.
