Our champions bring medals in the eight National Games 2019
Youths from SOS Children’s Villages Nepal bagged three gold medals, five silver medals and two bronze medals in different sports events organized in several parts of Nepal in the eight National Games.

Tara from SOS Children’s Village Sanothimi won two gold medals in All Round Topper and Team Event. Similarly, she bought two silver medals in Vaulting Table and Floor Event in Gymnastic held in Nepalgunj, Banke.
“I will be participating in the gymnastic competition in the future fand try to make my beloved ones proud,” Tara shares happily.
Similarly, Ujjwal bagged gold, silver and bronze medals in Vaulting Table, Team Event and Floor Event respectively. Rachana achieved a silver medal in Team Event.
“Hard work pays off! All three superstars of SOS Children’s Village Sanothimi represented Province Number 3 secured medals in Gymnastics. They are the great inspiration for their juniors. Additionally, they all are hardworking and sincere who regularly practice gymnastic,” shares Mr. Bijendra Shrestha, Gymnastic Instructor.
Taekwondo Champions
Aniz and Navraj, youths from SOS Children’s Village Lumbini won silver and bronze medals under the men’s 87 and 54 KG weight category respectively, in the eighth National Games in Taekwondo in Bhairahawa of Province Number 5.
“We are proud of our youths. They played for Province 5 and contributed to bring medals. This reflects their hard work and dedication. They are the real inspiration to many who believe in the strength of their dreams,” says Mr. Vijay Jung Rana, Project Director of SOS Children’s Village Lumbini.
The National Game was held under Nepal Sports Council affiliated with the Government of Nepal. It formally started from 18 April 2019 in Nepalgunj of Province 5 and was inaugurated by Right Honorable President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari. There were 5,211 athletes in 35 games from 7 provinces of Nepal.
