Chief Minister of Gandaki Province admits a child in SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki
Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Prithivi Subba Gurung, enrolled a child to class three at SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki in Pokhara Municipality under his guardianship.
“SOS Hermann Gmeiner School provides quality education to the children who have lost parental care. Therefore, I have transferred Abishek from community school to shape his future,” shares Mr. Gurung.
Abishek belongs to a poor and underprivileged community with no access to quality education from Pokhara municipality.
Gurung took the guardianship of Abishek a year ago, when his mother was eking out a living for the entire family after his father was sick and bed-ridden.
He requested the school family to provide necessary care and protection to Abishek as his academic performance has been worsening after the death of his father.
“My student is now a student of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School. Motivate and inspire him,” says Mr. Gurung.
In the meantime, Mr. Rajendra Shrestha, principal of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki appealed for the help from Provincial and local government as the school needs to be sustain on its own from 2020.
