On the way, the team was heartily welcome by the children, SOS mothers and co-workers of SOS Children’s Village Bharatpur. After lunch and short stay, the team departed from there.
The children, SOS mothers and co-workers of SOS Children’s Village Lumbini received the team with bouquets, garlands and a huge of applaud on their arrival in the Village which is just 20 Kilometers away from the birth place of Lord Buddha. During the formal welcome; cultural programme was performed. National Director Mr. Shree Shankar Pradhanang put his key notes, “This gathering of first generation of retired SOS mothers of various SOS Children’s Villages in Nepal along with the children and SOS mothers of the youngest SOS Children’s Village Lumbini is a historic moment. This is a good example of relational bond that SOS has been maintaining in its family since its inception. Visit of religious places by our retired SOS mothers is a necessary and a very important part of life. In addition to this, their visit to different SOS Children’s Villages and blessing to our children and junior SOS mothers has become our culture of learning now.”
During the stay in the youngest Village, retired SOS mothers were busy sharing their past experiences. Children and SOS mothers from the youngest Village were busy putting their queries and curiosities to retired mothers.
As a last resort, the final part of pilgrimage, the team reached Lumbini -the birth place of Lord Buddha. Lumbini Development Trust felicitated retired SOS mothers for their contribution to the children. |
